Lovers of fine food will find exactly what they are looking for in Andalucía. The international Mediterranean diet, featuring olive oil as its principal element, crosses frontiers without losing its identity, proof of which is to be found at our Olea Restaurant.

The coast is typified by the variety of its ‘fish of the day’. Enjoying a fine plate of fried fish, accompanied by a salad of peppers, while sunbathing in a beachside restaurant or chiringuito, is possibly one of the most finely-felt pleasures of Andalusian gastronomy.

The range of restaurants on the Costa del Sol is substantial, with a number of Michelín stars to be found among the various chefs, especially on the Costa del Sol and Málaga (Café de París in Málaga, Restaurante el Lago and Calima in Marbella).

At this point, special mention must be made of the importance of wines taken from our grapes. Perhaps the most international of Andalusian wines and the one which enjoys the greatest renown is manzanilla, its key source of manufacture being in Jerez.

In any event, there are interesting guarantees of origin in Andalucía such as that to be found in Málaga where there are noteworthy sweet wines (moscatel), the consumption of which plays a part in the area’s celebrations to the point of becoming star players themselves, in for example, the multidinous Málaga Fair.
